Allied Health Tech Prep students gain knowledge and practice skills associated with each body system to further a career in a variety of health care professions such as respiratory care, physical therapy assistant, occupational therapy assistant, radiologic technologist, surgical technology, nursing, medical assisting, dietetics and nutritional management, etc. Students have the opportunity to be certified in CPR and First Aid, learn fundamentals of phlebotomy and electrocardiography. Upon completion of the nurse aide training program students will be able to take the exam to become a State Tested Nurse Aide (STNA). While earning high school credits, students have the opportunity to gain up to 20 credits through Sinclair Community College. The program prepares students to transition to college at the end of the senior year entering one of many life and health sciences careers.
