Description

Students will grow plants from food crops to ornamental plants in both an inside greenhouse with controlled environment and an outside natural environment in order to research varying factors affecting plant growth. Heat and cold tolerance, drought resistance, yield potential, alternative uses and insect and disease resistance are all factors students will study. From grafting to gene splicing, students will work to understand how modern plant science is keeping up with global demands.
