Medical Lab Assisting
The Medical Lab Assisting program content focuses on the laboratory services provided in the health care industry. Students interested in working in healthcare, but not necessarily with direct patient care, would be ideal candidates. The program is aligned with Sinclair Community College Medical Lab Assisting and students can earn one-year certificates for Clinical Lab Assisting and Clinical Phlebotomy. Students that earn the Phlebotomy certificate from Sinclair will be prepared to take the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) Phlebotomy Technician test. Alumni may also choose to take the American Medical Technologists certification test. Students gain knowledge and practical experience necessary to be employed in a laboratory setting or continue their education in a healthcare-related field.

Dental Assisting
The Dental Assisting program and related learning activities are concerned with developing ethical values and the necessary technical and manipulative skills, communication, leadership development, chair-side assisting, dental radiology, business skills, and basic laboratory skills. The students will be trained for entry-level, general chair-side dental assisting and dental specialty chair-side assisting, dental radiology, infection control, medical emergencies, ethics and law, patient education and communication, and college readiness skills.
