Fab Lab Intro week of 3-10-21 --for week 10 of Fab Lab. This week we are creating a playing piece for the cornhole project and two versions of light switch covers.
Week 4 Intro Video--Fab Lab. We will continue the Keychain project by making two more designs. The third project this week is to select one of your 5 designs and export it as an stl file so that it can be made on the 3d printer.
This week we will create two 3d models with Tinkercad, one which uses an Additive approach and the other one employing a Subtractive method. This video reviews what we did in week 1, explains additive and subtractive modeling, and describes how to turn in both models to Google Classroom.
Fab Lab Week 13--Top project, assigned 11/11/20, due 11/18/20. We will create two versions of a spinning top--one made up of two separate parts, and the second one that uses three different parts. This video will provide an overview of the project and its main points. Step by step videos are posted on Google Classroom for both 13-1 and 13-2 on how to make both designs in Tinkercad.
For Fab Lab students, this video shows you how to open Tinkercad with your CTC Google account. You will need to connect online through wifi or a data connection. Tinkercad will work on any laptop (Windows, Mac, Chromebook), tablets and phones. We will use Tinkercad for our 3d modeling design projects.

Fab Lab Week 16 Overview, Semester 1: This is the final set of projects for the semester. I'm asking that you apply the skills you have used with different Tinkercad projects to design a holiday or similar ornament that has a positive message. This week's projects are assigned on December 9 and due on December 16 at noon.
Use Scribble to create the overall shape of your design, fill in the middle portion, place text on your text and put a hole at the top. A detailed step-by-step video is attached to assignment 16-1 in Google Classroom. Attach and submit your screenshot.

Fab Lab week 15 Overview--Screwdriver and Bolt Projects, assigned 11/30/30, due Wednesday 12/9/20 at noon. The screwdriver project uses a variety of Tinkercad skills to model the different shapes that make up a screwdriver. The bolt project uses the thread generator in Tinkercad.
We will create two mold designs for Week 14. The first one will include a reverse-image design so that the design comes out the way you have in mind when using the mold. The second one has outside walls and it cut all the way though the center portion. If you print your mold designs and want to use them, please take note of the safety precautions in the videos.
For Fab Lab 2 students who have completed CNC Coaster models: This video will review setup and the three types of toolpaths used to cut out your designs from wood stock for Week 13. Please check Google Classroom for detailed step-by-step videos on how to complete these operations.
