Firefighter / EMS
The Firefighter/EMS program is designed to meet the requirements of the Ohio Department of Public Safety – Division of EMS curriculum and NFPA 1001. This program covers all the areas of Firefighting that may be necessary at the scene of fires and accidents. It includes classroom instruction and practical laboratory applications. Students will train in a departmental organization, scene safety, fire behavior, portable extinguishers, personal protective equipment, tools, ladders, fire hose, fire streams, salvage and overhaul, rescue, and water supply. Additionally, students will learn about fire control, fire alarms, communications, forcible entry, ventilation, ropes, cause and origin, fire protection systems, building construction, emergency medical care, and hazardous materials.
